Camgene Therapeutics secures £260k Series A funding for hearing loss treatments

Regenerating nerve cells to restore natural hearing is the primary focus of Camgene Therapeutics Limited, which has just secured £260k in Series A funding. Based in Cambridge, the biotechnology company develops RNA-based treatments for patients with various forms of hearing impairment.
The company utilizes lipid nanoparticle-based mRNA technology to deliver treatments directly to ear cells. This approach aims to provide a biological solution for hearing loss by targeting specific cells within the ear to stimulate regeneration. By focusing on mRNA delivery, the firm seeks to address the underlying causes of auditory nerve damage.
This latest capital injection follows a £2.2m Series A round completed in October 2025. Prior to that, the firm raised £200.1k in July 2023 at a post-money valuation of £1m. The current funding was finalized in May 2026 (with filings and allotments occurring during the month).
Camgene Therapeutics was incorporated in 2023. Its latest financial accounts cover the period ending 30 September 2025. While the company has not publicly disclosed its current employee headcount or specific revenue figures, it remains focused on the research and experimental development of its core biotechnology platform.
The firm is headquartered in Cambridge and specializes in the development of mRNA-based therapies. Its proprietary delivery mechanisms are designed to stimulate cell growth and repair within the auditory system to solve the problem of permanent hearing loss.
