Cambridge-based Psyomics secures £2m for mental health triage platform

Reducing clinical triage and assessment time for psychiatric conditions is the core focus of Psyomics, which has secured an estimated £2m in new funding. The Cambridge-based company operates an AI-driven digital platform that collects patient-reported information, including social determinants and medical history, to streamline diagnostics for NHS trusts and private providers such as the Priory Group.

Founded in 2015 as a spinout from the Cambridge Centre for Neuropsychiatric Research, the firm was established by Professor Sabine Bahn. The technology behind the platform resulted from more than six years of research and development before its launch in late 2022. Led by CEO Dr Melinda Rees, the software is designed to triage more than 15 specific conditions and has been used by over 8,500 patients to date.

Financial filings for the year ended 31 December 2025 show the business recorded a loss of £2.8m. While those accounts noted a headcount of 17 employees, more recent data from LinkedIn suggests the workforce has grown to 28 people. This latest investment (allotted in August) follows a previous funding total of £1.3m raised during 2025.
