An estimated £200k funding round has been secured by Leeds-based Aspcold Limited, bringing its post-money valuation to approximately £2m. The company, which was incorporated in 2023, develops a zero-waste solution for alum sludge, a common by-product of the water treatment process. By transforming this waste into a dry substance, the startup targets water companies looking for cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternatives for sludge management.

The resulting product has potential applications within the construction industry as a reusable building material. This recent investment contributes to a total of £280k raised throughout the 2026 calendar year. According to its latest accounts for the period ended 31 March, the company employs six people, though its LinkedIn profile currently lists a headcount of two.

The business operates within the environmental services sector, specifically the treatment and disposal of non-hazardous waste. Documentation for this specific allotment was filed in July.
