Autonomous agro-ecological farming robots are the core focus of Arcs Revolution Ltd, a Peterlee-based startup that recently secured an estimated £5.7m in funding. The company develops robotic systems designed to eliminate the need for agrochemicals and synthetic fertilizers. Its technology aims to maintain high agricultural yields while regenerating soil health and sequestering carbon.
Incorporated in April 2025, the Durham-based firm focuses on the development of engineering solutions for the agricultural sector. The £5.7m round follows a share allotment in April, with documentation filed in May. This capital injection provides early-stage funding for the business, which has been operational for just over one year. The company is headquartered in Peterlee and targets the transition toward sustainable farming practices.
The company recently expanded its leadership team with three director appointments in April. Alistair John Bentley Church, Gordon Cutty, and Naweed Yousaf Khan joined the board during the same period as the funding allotment.
Arcs Revolution Ltd focuses on creating hardware and software solutions that automate complex agro-ecological processes. Its robots are intended to replace traditional chemical-heavy methods with precision mechanical or biological interventions. The startup's goal is to reduce the environmental impact of large-scale food production while addressing soil degradation and carbon emissions in the farming industry.
