Oswestry defense technology firm ABBS secures £127.7k funding round

Protecting armored vehicles and aircraft from mine and IED threats is the core focus of Advanced Blast & Ballistic Systems Limited (ABBS), which has just secured an estimated £127.7k in new funding. Based in Oswestry, the company develops active and passive blast protection systems alongside counter-UAS technology and autonomous systems for minefield breaching.
Founded in 2009, ABBS targets military and defense organizations globally. Its primary customers include research and development departments within the US, UK, and NATO armies. The company also applies its technology to civilian sectors, specifically regarding eVTOL aircraft safety and counter-drone measures.
The latest investment assigns the company an estimated post-money valuation of £5.9m. This figure is an increase from the £5.6m valuation recorded in December 2025, when the firm raised £194.7k. In February 2025, the company raised £143.5k at a valuation of £2.7m.
Historical funding data shows the company reached a peak valuation of £13.3m in June 2022 following a £260.6k raise. Other previous rounds include £72k in January 2024 and £97.7k in June 2023, both at a valuation of £6.8m. Earlier capital injections include £287.9k in July 2021 at a £10.8m valuation and £433k in October 2020 at a £10.5m valuation. In 2016, the company raised £165.2k in July and £224.3k in February.
According to accounts for the year ending 31 October 2025, ABBS employed four people. The documentation for the current round was filed in May 2026, following an allotment of shares in April 2026.
