Act Medical secures £250k for haemorrhage control technology

Haemostatic medical devices designed by Act Medical Ltd have attracted an estimated £250k in new funding, marking the total capital raised by the firm during the 2026 calendar year. The Loughborough-based business specializes in the REACT system, a technology providing rapid, power-free control of catastrophic haemorrhage resulting from penetrating trauma and violence-related injuries, such as knife crime.
This latest investment brings the company’s estimated post-money valuation to £9.6m. Established in 2021, the startup targets first responders and emergency medical services with an international prize-winning innovation. Media coverage has included features on the BBC, Sky News, The Times, and The Independent.
Financial records for the year ended 31 December 2025 show it employed five people at that time. Headcount has since increased to 10 staff members according to LinkedIn data. The funding follows an allotment of shares in August 2026 (filed in September).
