Revona Bio secures £250k for Midlands biotechnology development

Developing a high-throughput RNA-focused platform to target small-molecule compounds, Revona Bio has raised an estimated £250k in its latest funding round. The company, which is based in Walsall, focuses on discovering new drug discovery approaches for treating plant and animal diseases.

The business was incorporated in 2022 with a mission to find solutions for unmet medical needs by drugging the undruggable. This latest injection (allotted and filed in September) brings the total funding raised during 2026 to £2.1m, with £1.85m having been secured earlier in the year.

Financial records for the year ended 31 July 2025 indicate the company employed 8 people, while current LinkedIn data suggests a headcount of 7. The firm maintains an online presence at https://www.revona.bio.

Two new directors were appointed to the board in July. These include Goncalo Prof Bernardes and Adrian Paul Dr Ibrahim. LinkedIn data suggests that Dr Ibrahim may be the Deputy CEO at Adrian Lee & Partners.
