Bristol engineering firm Punk Couplings secures £28k for torque technology

Published

Bristol-based Punk Couplings Limited has secured an estimated £28k in a new funding round. Its work involves developing patented torque coupling technology designed to combine the performance benefits of gear couplings with those of universal joints. These components offer high angular misalignment while maintaining a compact and lightweight profile.

Incorporated in 2013 by Simon Parker, the business focuses on licensing its intellectual property to manufacturing firms. Its target markets include the aviation, aerospace, defence, and automotive sectors. Parker, who serves as Managing Director, brought 25 years of experience in mechanical machinery design and engineering sectors to the firm.

The company holds two patents pending for a family of components comprising 14 functional variants. Geometrically, these products operate similarly to Cardan joints but provide improvements in durability and ease of inspection. Financial filings for the year ended 31 March 2025 show the business employed one person. This latest capital injection (allotted in June) represents the total funding recorded for the entity in 2026.
