Magical Mushroom Company secures £1.6m for mycelium packaging

Magical Mushroom Company, the trading name of MMC Holding International Ltd, has secured an estimated £1.6m in new capital. This results in an estimated post-money valuation of £5.7m for the London-based business. The firm produces sustainable packaging solutions made from mycelium and hemp, which serve as compostable alternatives to traditional polystyrene.

Incorporated in 2020, the company utilizes mushroom-based materials for its product range. It serves several specific sectors, including white-goods, cool-box, and fast-moving consumer goods, alongside industrial applications. This latest round follows a 2025 investment total of £1.2m.

Financial records for the year ended 31 December 2024 report a headcount of three employees. More recent data from LinkedIn suggests the current staff count stands at two. Formal documentation for the share issue was filed in August (following a July allotment).
