Level E Research secures £1m to scale AICA compliance technology

Asset managers and institutional investors are the primary target market for Level E Research, a Scotland-based FinTech that has secured an estimated £1m in its latest funding round. This investment brings the company to an estimated post-money valuation of £25.1m. The capital follows a £500.2k raise completed in 2025.
Founded in 2018 as a spin-out from the University of Edinburgh School of Informatics, the firm develops software designed to automate compliance surveillance. Its core offering is the AI Compliance Agent (AICA), delivered via a SaaS model to reduce operational costs and increase efficiency. The technology utilizes a proprietary E-Platform that integrates machine learning, data science, and behavioural economics to provide systematic trading and portfolio management tools.
The company currently employs 24 people according to its LinkedIn profile. Its latest accounts for the year ended 31 December 2025 recorded a headcount of 19, with the current funding round documented in June 2026.
