Kabuni Sports secures £1.4m seed funding for AI cricket coaching platform

An estimated £1.4m seed round has been raised by Kabuni Sports Ltd, a London-based developer of AI-driven coaching technology. This investment brings the company's post-money valuation to approximately £8.1m.

Founded in July 2025, Kabuni Sports provides a sports-science platform that utilizes machine learning and biomechanics to deliver real-time technique feedback to athletes. The company focuses on the cricket market, using digital coaching solutions and international partnerships to reach individual players and enthusiasts. Its technology processes historical broadcast footage to create an interactive AI coach capable of providing spoken feedback during training sessions.

The platform is designed to replace traditional post-session reports with live conversations, allowing users to ask questions and receive instant answers about their performance. By digitising the expertise of high-level coaches, the company aims to make professional-grade instruction accessible to grassroots and professional pathway players.

Kabuni Sports currently operates with a team of 20 employees from its headquarters in London. Financial filings related to this funding round were processed in March 2026 (with the share allotment also occurring in March).

The company recently expanded its leadership team with the appointment of two directors in January 2026: Nicholas George Lyndon Prior and Mark Gerald Spelman.

The platform combines health data and performance analytics to turn standard playing areas into performance labs. While the current focus is on cricket, the company positions its machine learning tools as a broader solution for uniting sport, education, and wellbeing.
