Biorelate raises £2.5m to scale biomedical data curation platform

Scientific researchers and biopharmaceutical companies use Biorelate to extract and organize information from dark data through its proprietary, AI-driven Galact platform. The Manchester-based company recently secured an estimated £2.5m in new funding. This technology provides a knowledge graph intended to assist with biomarker discovery, indication expansion, and reviewing novel insights.

Incorporated in 2014, the business specializes in natural language processing and bioinformatics to solve complex drug discovery challenges. Financial accounts for the year ending 31 March 2025 show the firm recorded a £2.9m loss. While those filings listed 39 employees, current LinkedIn data indicates a staff count of 36.

Jason Charles Foster was appointed as a director in August 2026, the same month the funding was allotted and filed. LinkedIn suggests Foster may serve as a Data and AI Strategy Advisor and Chief Executive Officer. This round constitutes the total capital raised by the company throughout this calendar year.
