Astroscale Ltd secures £5m for orbital debris removal and satellite services

Developing technologies for orbital debris removal and satellite life-extension, Astroscale Ltd has secured an estimated £5m in its latest funding round. Incorporated in 2017, the engineering company is based in Didcot and provides on-orbit services including inspection for civil, defence, and commercial space operators.

The business also works with UK and European government and industry stakeholders to develop norms, regulations, and incentives that promote the responsible and sustainable use of space. Financial records for the year ended 30 April 2025 show a £29.4m loss.

During that same financial period, the company reported a headcount of two employees. This most recent injection brings the total capital raised in 2026 to £10m. This follows a larger funding period in 2025, during which the business secured £28m. The documentation for this latest round was filed in August 2026, following an allotment earlier that same month.
