Cheadle biotech startup Amplisynth secures £785k for DNA synthesis platform

Accelerating biotechnology breakthroughs through on-site biological production is the primary focus of Cheadle-based startup Amplisynth Ltd. The company has secured an estimated £785.3k in a recent funding round, which places its post-money valuation at approximately £1m. Its core product, SynthBox, is an automated DNA synthesis platform designed to allow scientists to generate custom sequences in-house on the same day.

By providing immediate access to genetic material, the technology addresses bottlenecks in drug discovery, antibody development, and gene therapy. The business was incorporated in 2024 to serve sectors including synthetic biology, diagnostics, protein synthesis, and agriculture. Financial records for the year ended 30 June 2025 show the firm employed two people.

Isaac Gallego Ossul was appointed as a director during the same month as the share allotment (July). Formal documentation regarding the capital injection was filed with Companies House in August. The system eliminates the need for researchers to wait for shipments from external providers.
